Anodizing aluminum cases?

I have played paintball for years and one of the rights of passage was to anodize your gun and mill your gun (similar to modding your case). So this got me thinking, could I anodize a silver Lian-Li case? Has anyone ever tried this before?

Aren't Lian-Li cases already anodized?
Anyhow, I do believe this is possible but you'll have to pay the price.

Anodizing isn't that expensive. Its probably on par if not cheaper than a custom airbrush case, plus it doesn't impede heat diffusion. I don't know for sure, but I think the black ones are anodized. I was specifically wondering about the silver ones as they are a blank slate. I know that aluminum can be ano'ed I was curious if the Lian Li cases had a physical or chemical skin on them that would prevent it.

Anodizing was pretty popular among aluminum case owners back in 2001-2002. There are online and local shops that do them just about anywhere. Expect to pay at minimum $100 for an average case, but to some it's absolutely worth it. Also, heatsinks, fans, and just about anything else that is made of aluminum is fair game.

For an already anodized case like Lian Li cases, there may be an extra charge to strip off the clear anodized surface, but yes, they can be anodized to a different color or finish with good results.
