I have been wrestling with this bastardized 9800 since I got it, shade in CS looks as black as the damned darkest of nights. I changed a registry setting at someone's request saying it would help but it didn't do anything visible.

On my old GF2gts I could see in shaded areas very well. This is pissing me off and I'm about to toss this card out of the window. I think it's a driver issue or some sort, I'm on the cat 4.10's right now and I've had this problem with all the versions I've used/upgraded to.

HELP? It's driving me bonkers!

Issue diagnosis was correct.

However, I thought it was bad drivers on ATi's part but really the original drivers I installed were corrupt (off the cd I got with the card) or became corrupt when installed. I uninstalled in safe mode, driver cleaned, restarted, reinstalled and vuala no more lame ass shade issues. Driver cleaner owns some serious ass.
