I just came back from an Alice Cooper concert. During the break, I saw many fellow concert-goers snapping off pics with their little P&S cameras so I asked a security guy. He says: "nah, Alice is cool with cameras - just no vidcams"

argh. We had front-row tickets to boot :(

damn man, i feel for you.

i have had a lot of situations like that before, believe it or not.

in fact, i have probably lost count by now :(

one thing i remmember in particular (and this might not make sense, hopefully the "photographer in you" can relate):

Ok, i was driving home with my family from florida (to michigan), this was about 4 or 5 years ago (yes, i still remmember it and hate the fact that i missed it :( ). It was around 12 to 1 in the morning, and we stopped at this synco (or however you spell it... its like sinoco or osmething) to get gas. This gas station was right along this highway and uactually had its own little off ramp/on ramp, but it was auctually a pretty small place. But they had this HUGE really bright yellow sinoco (?) sign, its like a big yellow blob with an arrow through it. Anyway, while i am sitting outside waiting for my mother to get back this van pulls up. Its one of those industrial strength vans. Ok, so its just this white insdustrial somewhat ugly van, but the door opens, and these amazing dressed indian/black old men get out, dressed in their full "garb" (white headress type thing, while robes, etc). They all have pretty good size beards. Anyway, they get out, procede to take these ornate mats/sheets/rugs out (one for eac) and put them on the ground right under the really HUGE bright synoco sign (the sign was almost on the ground, so it was almost right behind them) and do a very elaberate prayer session, all of course facing the same direction.

Anyway, it was honestly an amazing sight, and the contrast between these really really amazing looking men and this filthy but bright sinoco gas station sign was honestly amazing. I didnt have my camera with me.

wow, that was a lot of typing :)

In about april or so, I was driving around with a friend of mine. My camera was in hand but wasn't turned on and the lens was covered.... she says "man thats a big bird".

I look up and there was an american bald eagle sitting on a power pole. As if on queue, he jumped off and began to soar (note: those birds dont fly, they SOAR) parallel with her car right out the window!!!

I scrambled to get my camera ready in time. The whole ordeal lasted about 20 seconds. At apx 21 seconds I took my shot but it was out of the sunroof.... not only was it bad, but all I got was sky. :(

If you've never seen an Eagle fly in person, you're missing out... I was in awe... they really are awesome in the air.

When I go up north (as noted above) I see a lot of them...definately something to see...

Last night, Sunday night football on Espn was Minnisota Vikings at the New Orleans Saints.

I scored a sideline ticket from my friend who works for Pepsi co. Anyways, the seats were at the 20 yardline, right on the friggin field. I kinda figured they would be, but was scared to bring my camera for fear of spilling beer on it. Come to find out, the Hot HOT HOT chearleaders were directly in front of me( like 10 feet). I didn't see much of the game. ANd they rotate each quarter so I could've had 24 hot chearleader pics for yours and my enjoyment.

And not at anytime would the camera have been in danger.
I've learned my lesson.
