I know this will sound stupid to some, but I am curious about one thing. I know that AMD is planning a huge price cut to match conroes. What I am asking is taht, at what price will AMD be at an equivialnt price performance ratio to the conroes series.

THe current price cut, according to some is not enough. So does the experts here know what price should the x2 3800 be priced at before its as viable to buy as the say 6300 and so on for the whole series..

it depends on what you want out of an upgrade and whether you need to get a mobo as well. if you need to buy a 775 board in addition to the 6300 (cheapest compatible boards are 50-75, i think), then it's probably more worth it just to stick with AMD after their price cuts.

im going conroe myself, though ;) better performance at the same clock and much better overclock make up for any price i spend on a board, but that's a totally subjective assertion.
