AMD overdrive won`t start

I can not get that program to start with any ATI card (4770 4850) ?
 
did you click that little lock icon?

its right on top of the check box for enabling ati overdrive.

I did not install the control center? i just installed drivers and the overdrive program by its self?
 
You can't. Overdrive is an option that is built into Catalyst Control Center, and therefor, you can't get it separate. I would suggest the OP reinstall the drivers using the default settings. Then start CCC, click on the lockpad and OC to your hearts content.

Edit: I think the OP is talking about AMD Overdrive, which is the software for AMD CPUs and Motherboards. You cannot overclock a graphics card from it.
 
I thought you meant overdrive... just the one in CCC where you overclock the GPU. Not familiar with the one in linked.
 
Got it working, I reinstalled the full control panel, I think the link I posted is just if you have an amd chip. Thanks for replys
