Does anyone have experience using Open CL within Linux Distributions with AMD cards? Currently most of our development is done for Open CL/GL using Nvidia Titan cards, but we are looking at expanding our platforms using AMD cards as well. We really are looking for something on par with the Titan cards for price/performance.

Im curious what exactly your people will be using (that uses) opencl? Is there a specific program that comes to mind?
 
OpenCL is used for GPU compute. Think Open CUDA. It's not quite as efficient as CUDA but it's capable of being used on non-nVidia hardware and is capable of being used on nVidia hardware as well.

We are using it for its CPU compute functions in our behavior modeling and simulation software.
