With stellar video card releases and a surprising APU architecture, AMD seems to be kicking ass and taking names for 2011. Now we are waiting for Bulldozer to seal the deal to give them price and "ultimate" performance crown this year.

Yay for AMD! Let's hope Bulldozzer isn't a Bullshitter.

I'm not setting my expectations too high on Bulldozer, unlike AMD's graphics parts. While I believe that BD will be a great product, intel has up the ante with SB despite the chipset hiccup. Also, with their SB 2011 rolling out this year, we can only expect AMD to price Bulldozer accordingly to provide consumers a viable option for choosing BD over SB.

SB already squashed BD. And Nvidia rules all levels of GPUs. Ivy Bridge coming out shortly is for the big boys.

I am waiting for bulldozer because I want to see what it offers.

I would go Sandy Bridge now but I want 6 cores. I could go X6 right now but that is EOL.

Hopefully BullDozer will have the 6 core priced in my range.

And Nvidia rules all levels of GPUs.

Your kidding right? I'm no fanboy of AMD as I have purchase both products over the last decade, but AMD'S 6000 series shuts down Nvidia overall and their recent 590 "smokers" edition doesn't cut the cake against the 6990.

Your kidding the tesselation and power of the 580s, 4x SLI is unmatched. AMD can't shutdown jack. You must be an AMD fanboi. And SB speaks for itself.

Comments like this belong nowhere.. Good at only corrupting a decent conversation being as that you are obviously full of shit since bulldozer hasn't been released so thus could not have been crushed & have apparently never looked at a review from any legitimate site comparing the radeon 6k series to the GTX 5xx series.. At every price point the AMD cards win.. Other then the $500 single GPU point that AMD doesn't even bother with. since there now $350 6870 series is close in performance.

Just because you spew it doesn't make it true. Intel and Nvidia rule in today's market. Market share proves this and makes your post so wrong it ain't even funny. AMD stands for AM Don't. SB rules because AMD can't even ship BD still. And Ivy Bridge decimates period. You'll see. Little boys wth their toys buy AMD and settle for almost, the dog almost caught the rabbit if he didn't stop to shit, big boys buy Intel/Nvidia and enjoy superior enthusist performance all around.

Last time I read 3 or 4 GTX 580 3gbs trounce anything ATI has to throw at them. Obviously they have the best product. SB/I7 is still winning vs Phenom II. How is AMD on top?

These guys are living in their own wet dream. I just thought I would throw some dirt on it to wake them up.

Holy hell.. I dont even know that I can honestly respond to this without getting a message from Danny saying I have a new infraction for insulting another member.. But here goes..

That is about the most moronic crack headed half witted post I have seen since I stopped hanging out in AOL chartrooms back in junior high..

Intel Rules enthusiast CPU's in today's market because of SB yes, But we are not talking about today's market if your including Bulldozer or Ivy Bridge in it since neither are available today, or tomorrow or even in the next month.. Nvidia doesn't rule shit other then the Most inefficient space heater category (and the 500 dollar single GPU solution category since AMD knows its pointless to sell a 500 dollar GPU when they have a 350 dollar GPU that is a very close performer).
In addition to that you Quote Market Share as being proof & then talk about the Enthusiast.. Well those are 2 completely different markets. Neither of them is NV on top in. Market-share for graphics is Intel due to there integrated video & them having the market-share in CPU's. Enthusiast is Intel currently, but this wasn't always the case nor will it always be the case.

Face it your wrong. AMD ain't on top or even close. And your name calling on my post just shows your own little boy insecurity. You obviously attack members out here alot from your two posts attacking me. And their is market share at every level and over all. Intel/Nvidia rule it all. Most CPUs do not have integrated graphics how wrong can you be in one day. Keep up the mis-information your lack of knowledge shines.

negative ghost rider.. The best product is not simply who is the best performer.. Otherwise nobody could buy anything buy a million dollar Bugatti because Bugatti is obviously a better product then ford, or chevy or whatever else you want. Price needs to be taken into consideration as well..

And well 2 of the CHEAPEST 580's on newegg set you back 979.98 a Pair of 6970's set you back 679.98.. Thats only a 300 dollar difference equating to about 30%. So in order for that to be worth it the 6970's would need to only show about 70% of the overall performance of the 580's. Where in fact they show more like 97% of the 580's performance.

If you want to do a closer comparison then it would be the 6970 vs the 570. Well a pair of 6970's clearly beat the 570's & a 30 dollar increase for the pair. You also get 1.5GB more ram out of that 30 dollars.

Edit: & the 6970 prices were before MIR & the instant 10 off coupon.. The final price was 300 a card instead of 339 so that widens its lead even more if you factor those in)

Likewise.

Market share proves this and makes your post so wrong it ain't even funny.

There are more people using Phenom II processors than Sandy Bridge ones, so this must mean PII's are better because they have more market share, right??

Market share proves who has sold more products, not which product is technically superior. I'm not saying current Intel chips aren't better than current AMD chips (because they are). However, don't confuse market share with technical specifications/superior design.

. AMD stands for AM Don't.

I'm not a guidance counselor, but a career in comedy isn't for you.

SB rules because AMD can't even ship BD still. And Ivy Bridge decimates period. You'll see.

Glad to see you came to those conclusions by looking at meaningful benchmarks, architecture analysis, etc.

I'd have to say that this superior insight that you have provided on how IB "decimates" has been one of the most informative things I've ever read! Thanks, I'll probably need to spend the next week wrapping my head around all the information you provided.

Outside of mindless brand loyalty, do you have anything else to say?

I Dont randomly attack members.. I just call it how I see it.. & I see your post's as blatant Fanboisim with no respect for reality. & I never said that most CPU's have integrated graphics.. I Quoted Intel as having Integrated graphics that the VAST majority of there CHIPSETS do & the Majority of there last 2 generations of CPU's do..

LOL! you tell em! The only reply I could ever post to this person is TROLLLLLLL.

@canna: You want stats google them I always buy the best and do my research so your attempt to attack my credibility is as weak as your post and you add no value what so ever except to keep the spewing going. Not my job to spoon feed you. Bottom line I am right Intel/Nvidia are top. AMD ain't even close end of story. BD specs/perliminarys show its a loser in the market before its released. And BTW ask the guy who started the thread for proof not me. Not my job man.

Play nice guys.....no need to take things to a personal level here.

I think it would be quite awesome for AMD to steal the performance crown, but I don't think BullDozer is going to do it...though it's an awesome step forward. Rampant competition is good for all of us.

As far as video cards go, I would certainly have to hand this gen to AMD particularly since they beat Nvidia to market by a very sizable margin. They're high performing cards with incredibly little trade-off for noise/heat. Nvidia's made improvements there, but not enough. SLI kicks CF's ass though, it would be nice if AMD could bridge that gap.

Its your job to prove that that the OP & everyone else is wrong when you come into someone else's thread crapping on it.. & What BD spec's prelims are you referring to.. Cause the only leaked info that hasn't been proven to be completely fab'd showed BD pretty much bending the i5-2500k over the table & showing it who's boss..

I invite you to bring your AMD scores Vantage, 3DMark, ATTO, whatever up against my ASUS P8P67 EVO with the i7 2600K, 2 580s, etc or my 5200 SR-2 with 2 x5680s and 4 580s. Can't even see AMD having anything even close. Oh and go fold on a AMD CPU or GPU if you can. And wheres the physics? Can't wait for LGA 2011 gonna blow the socks off the existing stuff.

What research is that:
That market share means superior performance?
That you pulled some 'facts' out of your ass, and they are right because you formed a misguided opinion?
Perhaps you are speaking of the wisdom that AMD = AM Don't?
Maybe it hat Ivy Bridge runs at 4.3 Giga-Decimates a second? (BTW, I heard this one is true!)

your attempt to attack my credibility is as weak as your post

I don't need to undermine your credibility, you have that one on lockdown all by yourself.

Alright, closing this before some people manage to get themselves banned.
