I need to know if there is some versions of the AMD Heatpipe cooler in the market ?

I saw some pics of a heatpipe cooler with 80mm fan and I ordered one via eBay. I got it today and i noticed the fan is 70mm so I guess there is at least 2 versions.

If there is pictures, it would be nice. i will take some pictures myself and put it here later today to prove my claim.

Perhaps one for Opterons and one for regular A64s? Opteron 165 comes with the 80mm fan, if I remember right.

The one i got is in a retail box and this box tell it's from a X2 4800+.

Second revision X2 (4200+ and above) and Opteron cooler:

I got the first revision exactly so thank you for confirming my suscipion. I now see why ppl sometime tell to make sure it's the H-base one.

I don't really care too much about the mistake since my Newcastle isn't a great overclocker. However, is there a way to fit a 80mm fan on the first revision version ?

With a 70mm-80mm adapter, I don't see why not. However, the second-revision heatsink is just so much better compared to the first. If the seller showed you pics of the second-revision model, and you got a different heatsink, I'd be contacting them.

I checked the pics on the auction and you are right, I got the wrong one. I will check with him but it's not a biggie if he offer a compensation for the error.

Ok, the seller mixed up the heatsinks and he offered a partial refund so it's good...

Now to try and see if it still works as expected, especially when mine doesn't overclock too much.
