AMD Catalyst 15.4.1 Beta

So... what does it actually improve regarding FreeSync?

Been a while since theyve come out with a new driver. Been running 14.12 since about December! AMD used to churn these things out pretty much once a month.

The new WDDM 2.0 driver is also live on W10 and supports the DX12 changes.

I have to say this driver set stopped the stuttering in gtaV for me on my 290. It gets a thumbs up for me.

Yeah I tried it out in GTAV last night too with my Crossfire 290s. Maybe it was a bit smoother.

Can anyone post a screenshot from the driver catalyst software tab that shows exactly which drivers are in this driver?I'm just curious in what way its different from what im currently using.

Would be nice if amd would just list these things on the driver page:rolleyes:

why can't this drivers be found manually?.. I always find just 15.4.. weird.. well im know downloading this to test..

Not sure what to think lol every version in that driver set is older than one from win update...guess ill stay where im at:D

I guess its because Win10 uses a different set of drivers than win7/win8.1.. would be a interesting thing to test how perform win10 vs win8.1/win7

For some reason AMD often doesn't update the reported driver versions. It seems to be a regular occurrence.

Fuck you know as boring as everything is right now you think [H] could do a test while things are so dam slow around here. You know as well as i in 4 weeks or so they be busy as mother fuckers trying to get the benchmarks and articles on the new cards..In the end i think most of us will be on win 10 for back to school anyway once the rtm is released and it will be like bf4 was back when 8.1 was new. As a hole new games will play better on the new os

after finding the 15.4.1 and it working great, last night my system had a new driver pushed through windows update(using w10 preview) and it was horrible!! alt-tab caused games to black screen, system hangs, Netflix would go white when full screen and GTA5 was stuttering to all hell!

I didn't take a screen-cap of the new one pushed through update but it was ALL new compared to the 15.4.1 driver. software info in CCC called it driver package 15.20.1038**** I think... look's like primetime's screen-cap but I think the d3d version was higher.

I quickly reverted back to the 15.4.1 and would recommend anyone with W10 do the same.

edit- @primetime, you must be on W10. the driver pack you shows seems to work ok for me but the 15.4.1 seems smoother in game. the new update pushed last night was crap!

Funny you say that i got a black screen once but at the time i was using vsr and figured it was something to do with that...some time latter it installed a different driver by itself and i just haven't even test tried a game yet...but if worst thing is alt tab issues i can live with that if the game im playing (crysis 3) does ok otherwise...ill check the 15.4.1 one like you mentioned if i have to many issues thanks

Crappy drivers for me, caused all sorts of blank screens coming out of games and a few BSOD's...went back to the 14.12's....better results.

If you're plaing any games released within the last 6 months, 14.12 is a terrible idea.
I can't speak for this x.1 Beta driver though.

Oh it's just a Crossfire fix? I don't have Crossfire myself. So pointless to install?

again, i dont know. im at work.

im sure its worth the 10 minutes to run DDU, install them and give them a try.

Ive noticed over the years, taking other peoples word for things like this is pretty pointless.

Always try them yourself.

The consensus on there (Guru 3D) is that the driver (15.5) has no Crossfire fix for W3 yet.

I didnt see anyone say it sucked, just thta its not an improvement over 15.4.1

installed the 15.5 and it has exactly the same version numbers as 15.4.1. for every component except CCC. they seem to work fine, no notable/noticeable difference...

version doesnt really matter AMD frequently doesnt iterate it.

Do a bit compare to check for changes.

I decided to check out the w10 tech preview. I'm not getting an update with a set of dx12 enabled drivers, still on the wddm1.3 win8.1 set I installed to start with. I'm also not seeing a d/l link anywhere.

So, what am I missing?
