AMD and nVidia Roadmaps - Traffic Jam?

For my Doom3 system, I was thinking about the nForce4 motherboard. But, looking at AMD's roadmap, it looks like they may have a whole new line of processors (like Winchester and Athens among others) out at the same time that the chipset is released. So, if a person goes with nForce4 they would have the newest mobo technology but an "outdated" CPU! Will the cycle never end?! Damn the dark pantheons! Always toying with my affairs! Damn theeemmm! ;)

I guess this happens every time. A new CPU comes out, the chipset is shaky at first, then gets an update that isn't really all that great, then at about the same time that a new CPU comes out again, they are updating the chipsets for the final time.

SLI is my biggest desire right now. I hope we see dual PCI-E and working SLI solution available to the mass market before '05.

I have it set in my mind: when nForce4 comes out, I'm going with dual PCI-E, the second to top CPU, two of the top video cards, and the most low latency ram I can jam in there, preferably 2-4 gigs. I'm not sure about data storage yet. This time, I'm watercooling. Always wanted to have an H20 cooled system.
 
I'm waiting for Nforce 4, then going to 939 socket at the same time, and deciding on AGP/PCI-E at that time.
