When do the mid-range cards for the 7 series come out? I am going to have to RMA my gtx460 soon and I would like to have a new card to put in there while I run the rma. I am about ready to jump on a 6850 but I don't want to buy one if the 7 series mid-range cards are around the corner.

The 7950 comes out the 31st so my guess is around middle of Feb for the mid range.

The price & street date list posted a while back shows the 78XX as having a Feb 10th-ish release, though considering that those cards fill the most important price points ($250-350) you'd think we'd be hearing more info about them by now.

Yeah, im really surprised that we haven't even had much in terms of leaks. My gtx460 has been really good to me, even at 1920 x 1080 but its right there on the edge of being able to play games on high with some AA. I am hoping that the next sub $200 cards will put me in the 6950 performance range with a little better power consumption with the 28nm gpus. Feb 10 isn't that far away, even if its just a paper release.

I have a feeling that the none of the new AMD cards will have as good a price to performance ratio as the 6850 if you get one at a good price. To me a good price would be $120 or less.
