This is on stock. My sp-90 came today along with the Zalman nb47j for the north bridge and i've not installed yet. This is my first attempt to OC my new a64 system.

But this seems pretty good for Stock cooling and cheap pny memory. I know its hot but what do you think?

Your temps!

Nice OC, my 3400 CG does about that. :D But I do 250x10 with 3x HTT multi. BTW thats way to much voltage on the core, take it down dude.

Can you tell me what the HTT 3x means??? There are so many settings in my bios I have no idea what half of them mean and you know how good the manual (isn't) since you have same board.

Also, thanks for the input! I set voltage to 1.55 and then 110% of that so....1.7 or so. How much to keep it stable at 2550 or so??

All input is appreciated. I had just figured out my mobile in my sig and now I have to start all over.....LOL and love it.

Also, what is a max safe temp on this clawhammer core?

I dont recomend going over 1.65 on air...

depending on the ambient air temp, you might be able to run 1.65v on air without too much trouble... but when i try it on my 3500+ with an xp-90, my temps still idle at about 40c and hit 47c load

@ stock speeds idle temps of 30-34c are VERY good and load temps of 40c are good.

once you start overclocking your results are gonna vary, try to find the best performance that suits you. a lot of people generally overclock more to do benchmarks and such, but have a slightly lower overclock speed for day-to-day use :D

I've been out of OCing for awhile, but I assume HTT means "Hyper Transport Technology" or something. Basically what us old school guys refer to as a fronside bus (FSB).

Basically your clock speed = your HTT x Multiplier.

How'd I do?

Okay, I think I knew that, but what about the "3x" in front of the HTT? That's what I didn't understand. I did kno w the FSBxmultiplier was clock speed...

My understanding is that the HTT multiplier doesn't drastically effect performance. You just want to keep the total under 1000. Meaning that if you have 200fsb, 5x is fine, but if you're above that go to 4x. Above 250 and go to 3x.

Something ain't right here, because my 3200+'s running at those speeds with stock voltage at ~35-40c with my Zalman cooler. Same with my old now-dead one. Indeed, ramp your voltage down.

I put a thermalright xp-90 on.

Here are my temps now. I also put voltage at 1.55 x 1.04 or around 1.6 volts.

I tried first at 230x11 with voltage at 1.55 and would post, but not get into windows.

Problem is that Prime is stable actually, but graphics card is not. My 9800pro crashes MOH:BT (break through MOH) after 5-60 minutes of play. Its not worth it to set up a divider so the GPU is slower right? My normal max stable everyday is 215x11 or 2365 or so.

Thoughts?
