AM2 Overclock: What Am I doing wrong?

The system is Deacon in the sig.

Now...Here's the temps and speeds different componets are set at.

Cpu @ 2750 (11x250) Vcore 1.525v (normal vcore for this speed?)
Mem @ 305.5 Mhz (cpu/9 and Vmem @ 2.1v O_O )

So I love the system @ the speed it is, 3 problems tho... i think the voltages are WAY too high on the 1)CPU and 2)RAM, and 3) I can't get the ram to run at the CPU/7 mark (DDR2-667) even tho it's DDR2-800 spec'd ram.

So my ram's running @ 305.5 when it should be 392.8.

In case you're wondering, System and CPU temps are 46C Idle (Ambient temp is 32C) and I've seen ithe CPU peak @ 58C

Edit: Also HTT is set to 400

Help?

Normal Vcore is 1.4V right? That's the same for mine...I would say that 1.525 is the maximum you could run at, as long as the system is stable under stress and cool you're golden. Most RAM is rated for 1.8 or 1.9V but operates OK at slightly higher.

I've heard of issues regarding memory speeds and odd (like 11x) CPU multipliers making funky DDR2 clocks. Mine runs 667 at 300MHz instead of 333 (CPU/8), but runs 800 at 400 even (CPU/6) and 533 at 266 (CPU/9)at a 12x CPU multiplier. I'm hoping to get 2.8GHz out of my CPU later this fall when the weather is cooler and I can drop in a new PSU.

Good luck!

Care to explain what that is/does?

I am pretty sure it diverts cosmic energy in order to make your CPU run faster without heating
up as much.

Sounds useful.

Now if only I can keep the hackers from stealing my extra megahurts....

Yeah, exactly what is the Rar? BIOS file?
yes, it's a bios, sorry.. :p

make a boot floppy and copy the files to it, run 7250.bat in dos, and it should reflash the mobo :D

The DDR2 I use runs at 2.2v normally, says it on the modules, my board happens to support that. Some Gskill HZ models are nice for OCing.

Your OC is fine. But you'll get a lot further with clockgen. Most of the time your bios will max out before a part does sadly. I seem to have the luck of the irish with getting high CPU HTT's in past systems. Lets see what the AM2 can do tomarrow.
