recently picked up a corsair h50 off a member here. was coming from a gemini ii s heatsink.

i'm using intel burn test on my q6600 g0 with a vid of 1.325 (terrible) while running stock @ 2.4ghz and the highest temp reading was 60c. the cpu and cooler are also lapped perfectly flat.. could this be because of my high stock VID?

Double check your seating. Try increasing the fan speed on the H50. If that doesn't work don't be too harsh on it. While H50 is watercooling, it is not that much greater than an air cooler. Besides, your 1.32 vid is on the high side. When I had my old q6600 it ran in the mid 60's with a vid of 1.38

Actually, it's garbage. Put it on your video card with zip ties. That's about the only use for a Hydro series 50-80, which still lose out to top air coolers.
