Any CPU coolers benchmark at 212 EVO level or better? Keeping relative size and possible price of course.

I came across Raijintek Themis Evo which goes for under $30 every some weeks, benches a few better. Looks like a solid alternative - anyone have one of these?

Any other available coolers?

Lots of CPU coolers can compete with or beat the 212 EVO.

What the 212 EVO is famous for is performance per dollar - in that regard it is nearly invincible.

At $30 the 212 EVO is close enough to $60 - $70 coolers in performance that only heavy overclockers pass over the EVO.

What is your budget? That's the driving force in your decision, not merely pure performance.

It's not very invincible, at all, is what I'm saying. That cooler I mentioned above performs better and can be bought for cheaper on a weekly sale. (Currently it's not on sale)

tPersonally, my budget is the same as the 212 EVO. But I figured at least a few others would be interested in knowing/posting some alternative coolers in the performance-price range.

Its big, but the very underrated Thermalright True Spirit 140 power is awesome for the price. The slight modified new version is a bit shorter to fit in more cases http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=08DJEPQ62P5FEQYA861E

Wow I'd love one of those True Spirit 140.. Too bad they're not too popular right now..

Themis would be fine, thermalright makes amazing coolers and have been around long enough that you can trust there product. You would be happy with it. I don't know what popularity has do to with buying a heatsink. I look for quality and performance and price, if I have the only in the world and it works so be it.

TRUE Spirit 140 Power and TRUE Spirit 140 rev. A are both very good. The Macho cooler (140mm fan) is also quite good. The TS140rev.A has the cooler offset away from PCIe sockets for better clearance .. and it's not as tall either.

TRUE Spirit 140 rev. A is $49.90 delivered

Nan's Gaming Gear is the seller and on their own website it is $39.95 plus shipping. Don't know what they charge to ship.

Oh definitely. I have a Thermalright Ultima-90 for an older Q6600 build. It does wonders. At first I got a Scythe Ninja (the square tower with 3 heatpipes going up on each side) and it was just okay, then I picked up the Thermalright Ultima-90, a much smaller cooler yet it gave me much lower stats! :)

What I meant by popularity is that the price won't be going down and not many retailers carry it, which is a bad thing because the price doesn't jump around like it does on popular items at newegg/amazon, etc. :p

I picked up a Themis Evo for $30 from newegg, hoping it'll do alright on a 4790K. :)

Here in Europe they do go on sale. I got two Macho Rev. A on sale for £16.99 each.

For example:
TY-147 is £6.19 (was £4.95 last year)
TY-143 fan is £5.79
Silver Arrow IB-E Extreme is £53.50.
Macho Rev.B is £35.82
TRUE Spirit 140 Power is £32.14.
TRUE Spirit 140 is £30.99
Ultra 120 eXtreme is £24.98
TRUE Spirit 120 rev.A BW is £23.49
