So I joined AlphaCool's forum to ask for the correct o-ring size for their standard G1/4 threaded fitting and instantly get banned for spamming/bot, maybe for posting links to their own products on their own web page. Is this where we are in the industry? Anyway maybe NBR 11 x 2mm as shown here but oddly states "without groove" https://shop.alphacool.com/en/shop/fittings/accessories/roh-o-ring-11-x-2mm-g1/4-inch-without-groove Anyone have a solid McMaster o-ring replacement they've used, I buy in bulk for maintenance replacement. The o-ring is pictured below fitting is 17226 as an example but likely their common size.

I can't say for sure regarding Alphacool, but I've used these on EK and a couple other random fittings (could have been Alphacool) with success. I used 12mm, but they are also available in 11 or 11.5mm, and many other sizes.

The Viton are going to be a bit more stiff than Buna-N, or similar rubber types, so they'll compress less.

Ideally your O-ring will compress enough to allow physical contact between the fitting face and it's parter surface (if there's a groove for it), otherwise you're relying on the stability of the O-ring material to maintain torque on the fitting. In that case, I trust the Viton more than basic rubber.
