Alphacool AGB-Eheim 600 Station II 12V does not work

Ok so Im building a system using the aforementioned pump, the tech specs say its a 12v pump so I connected to molex connector (yellow, and black for 12v) and jumped the psu to test the loop before giving power to the whole system. The psu fan comes on and anything else I plug into it comes on but the pump will not. the leads off the pump are brown and blue and ive tried connecting both possible ways (brown-black/blue-yellow and brown-yellow/blue-black) but no go. a few times however the pump did do a very small quick burst then stopped immediately and I can hear no sounds coming from it. yea... after posting i reread that product page and realized the circuit board wasnt just for connecting to a 110v power source it also has a molex connector on it for 12v sources. Also in the process of installing the board I broke a cap off it...Ive spent the last hour soldering it back on, but it works so...
 
You sure that pump is a 12 volt DC pump? IIRC, all Eheim pumps are AC pumps. I suspect your controller card converts the DC voltage to AC voltage. Plugging DC voltage directly to the pump might not be a good idea...

apparently you are correct even though the back of the pump says 12v dc I still had to plug it into the controller board
 
I have a Compact Eheim in my Aquaduct and it says:

12V 50Hz 11W

The 50Hz is the keyword as DC pumps don't utilize Hz. I looked at the link you provided and they were devious in not telling people that it wasn't a DC pump. "Submerged pump station including Eheim compact 600 pump with 12 Volts." :(

However, please note that your pump can be OC if you get an Aqua Computer Aquaero as it can change the Hz or frequency of the pump. :D
