Alliance Calling For DRM Standard

The Digital Living Network Alliance is seeking DRM interoperability by pushing for an open standard to make various DRM products work together.

The group is likely to endorse the work of the Coral Consortium that released its initial specification last June. The effort marks the next major milestone for the 230-member DLNA group that believes it is on the cusp of achieving its major goal, establishing a baseline of interoperability for digital home products using Internet protocol-based networks.

DRMs are more to enforce monopolies then they are to protet content these days. None of the major records are going to give that up.

Are these idiots ever going to realize that as long as I control what I load on my PC that I wont use DRM that I don't like or can at least deal with? What happened to ownership? Oh right, I signed away ownership the very first time I ever agreed to an EULA. (Another worthless result of lazy companies.)
