Has anyone experienced a problem where all of a sudden (within the last few days I think) Windows 7 won't enter sleep mode. I have used it for months but all of a sudden it won't work.

Update, all of a sudden it works again.

I had the case open to test firmware updating and old bricked ocz ssd one more time before I thew it away and it is still broken so I took it out again but all of a sudden sleep mode now works.
 
An interesting quote from Wikipedia's Sleep Mode entry:

"When a non-ACPI device is plugged in, Windows will sometimes disable stand-by functionality for the whole operating system."

So, think about what you have plugged into your computer recently that you haven't before, and temporarily unplugged while you were testing stuff.
 
I plugged in a cheap usb gamepad and installed a new Samsung 840 evo ssd. I ran the SSD tweaker software.

But I tested it without the gamepad and still won't work.

I disconnected a dvd drive recently since I only have 2 working sata ports (faulty early sandy bridge mb).
