Alienware, I agree is highly overpriced. People SAY they are expensive for reasons such as " They include an operating system, a warranty and etc" However places like CYBERPOWERINC.COM build their computers with the same high performance parts ,OS and warranty for around $2,400. Are they worse than ALIENWARE in terms of support, quality or what? They
(I think!!!) ARE overall cheaper. Am I wrong or not? Does this mean ALIENWARE do charge too much?

Cyberpower is one of those companies on the west coast that have tight ties with overseas suppliers, and just slam home components into a (cheap) case and sell at a low cost. They make up for it in volume. They're not to respected in the integrator community, but damn, if you know your stuff it's like buying from NewEgg without having to assemble it yourself.

Don't think of them as worse than one another, think of them as microsoft... everyone hates microsoft

OMG, not everyony by a long shot hates MICROSOFT. They are a not a bad software company with nice customor support. Dont you use Windows? or some old system call.. ahhh.. i think it was mac.

I use windows, but when it asks for a company name its always 'Death to Gates'

I hate any company that keeps me from "fixing" stuff so it works perfectly for me

Though pricey, I still back alienwares laptops, they simply rock. And the warranty service is great, they replaces my bros entire mobo on his laptop when his ethernet port broke. He didnt have to pay anything but shipping to them I believe.

If I was going to buy a "pre-built" for the performance, I would probably get a FalconNW...

Or maybe even that Dell XPS...

i bought a p4 2.53 gig pc from cyberpower little over a year ago and i hadn't had any problems with it thus far

Wooptydoo. Dell came to my house to replace my mainboard when my firewire port got borked.

wow, i guess since you put death to gates under company name, that makes it ok to use software you hate every day.

dude, if you hate it so much, uninstall it and use DOS.

so then you hate every company?

no, just specifically microsoft, if you don't hate them, you should

look at the games they put out, Halo is so horribly coded it can't run well on any system

I haven't decide whether that should be blamed on MS or Bungie.

Everyone is quick to blame MS, but they make some good stuff. Hell windows works fine for me, which is a marvel since we have asshats around the world who want serial ports and ISA ports on their computers. So much more legacy support is expected of windows than Mac OS.

Just a reminder as to what the original question was and it sure ain't gaming or Microsoft.....

Wooptydoo Dell also came to my house when my videocard fan went out and replaced it. So what, I was just saying that the Alienware support was good, I never said it was the best or that every other tech support was ass.
