Alienware Aurora, Will This Work?

Hey guys I have a question about my Alienware Aurora, I usually build my own computers but I received this as a present.

It is water cooled and has good specs, i7 2600k, GTX 670, 16 GB ram, unfortunately it doesn't have a SSD.

I wanted to pull the 2 TB drive out of it, put it in an older machine and then throw in a SSD that I have laying around. Do you guys know if this would be possible? I have never dealt with water cooling before I am afraid if I throw in the SSD and do a fresh install everything from scratch something might go bonkers.

What do you guys think? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
 
You'll be fine.

I really doubt the HDD is in the water loop so you wont even need to touch the water cooling stuff. The only problem you might face is mounting the 2.5" drive if the case doesn't have mounting points for it.
 
Yeah the HDD isin't in the water loop just the CPU Vid card and RAM I think. I just didn't know if there was some code or something in the HDD that regulates the radiator and water flow. How does it know what to do?

Uh... not sure you understand how computers work. The hard drive doesn't control anything.

If your water loop fluctuates the fan speed and water flow, it's most likely controlled by the motherboard and GPU's built in PWM controller.
