airflow direction

I just purchased an Intel E2160 and the stock cooler. I don't have the system powered up yet, but I want to know what direction the airflow across this cooler goes. Does it go down across the cooler or away from the chip drawing cool air from around it first?

I believe most if not all stock coolers (Intel and AMD) blow onto the heatsink and is dispersed thoughout the fins.

If you suck (not sure, never met you!) you stand a chance of short circuiting the airflow through the cooling fins. Air will take the least resistance path through the fan, which would mean coming from the sides. Airflow over the center of the HS could be next to nothing! Blowing is much better IMO as you are impinging the airflow directly at the HS and should get better overall coverage.
