Hey guys, so i picked up the Thermaltake Water 3.0 and the pump is driving me crazy. It makes a constant clicking noise , and other than this noise my pc is completely quiet. It is very noticeable, and is definitely coming from the pump.

I did some research online and many people have stated that it is probably an air bubble trapped in the pump. So i tried all the suggested fixes. Letting the pc run on its side, taking the rad out and shaking it, tapping the pump. I've also read that the noise should stop after a while, once the air is cleared out. However, it has been about 5 days and it is still occurring. I have even tried resetting the pump in multiple directions, when i do this the noise will be gone for a while but will come back within an hour.

I picked this up at my local micro center so I can still go back and exchange it, however I would like to be sure that I just got a bad pump and that it is not something I am doing wrong, or is a normal thing with AIO coolers.

Here is an image of my setup. Is there anything wrong with my install?
Should the rad be flipped, so that the tubes are coming from below it?

Your pump is the high point in the loop. Air will always accumulate there.I'd move the rad to the top of the case and see if it clears up.

I have a 2.0 Extreme in a spare rig. It too made pump noises until the radiator was higher than the pump. Then the noises seemed to go away and haven't come back in about two years. So the advice to try moving the radiator to a higher point is sound.

damn, unfortunately there is no way of me mounting the radiator anywhere but the bottom of the case. i have the s frame. so this will be something i have to deal with? or is there any other work around?

I'd change over to a solution that has the pump on the rad then. Swiftech or Antec. The pump should never be your highest point. That being said, air accumulating in the CPU block isn't optimal either.

appreciate the help Jorona. If I was to do my own custom kit, could this issue be avoided.

Indeed. You could put the pump wherever you wanted in a custom loop. You could also ditch that swanky S Frame. It seems like it's more trouble than its aesthetic is worth.

Paid way too much money to do that haha. But thanks a lot for the help. I'll have to do some research on custom kits.
