Aim Poblem please help

Everytime i try to open an aim so i can im someone...my aim crashes and says that there is a problem and it needs to close and there is info about the error. the error info says the following:Error Signature AppName:aim.exe Appver:5.9.3690.0 modname:kernal.dll ModVer:5.1.2600.0 Offset:0014a5a
This Only happens when i open up aim windows to instant message people...please help... :mad:
