Ok guys, UT2K4 runs like crap on this system now. Thing is, UT2K4 ran silk smooth with the same setup on my Asus P4S8X. I got rid of the boad for other reasons, not performance.

I've never been able to get UT2K4 to run smooth on my new setup. What gives?! This is making me very mad.

The only thing that changed is the Newest nVidia Drivers. And that CAN'T slow things down this much.

We are talking liquid frame rates down to heavy framing.

What happened?

BTW, I clocked Vid Card/System back to defaults, still same results:(
 
Did you load the Intel chipset drivers BEFORE DirectX9, and that BEFORE the video drivers?
 
I did the clean install...

Didn't load the Chipset drivers at all! It didn't have anything that was missing in the hardware box. Come to look at the site and there are no chipset drivers for the AI7. See below:

I loaded the nVidia ForceWare drivers before DX9. Is this correct? I've always done it like this before and things worked great!

Anybody else have any ideas? I would like to stary enjoying gaming:(
 
On my IC7 and all other Intel chipset boards (AI7 and IT7-MAX2) I had to install the Intel Chipset drivers, followed by DX9b, then the video drivers. The chipset drivers add "better" drivers than what XP or 2000 install by default.
 
Where do I get these Chipset drivers? I looked on the CD, but didn't really find anything. Plus, Abit doesn't have any drivers on their website for me to DL.

Did you install them right off the CD?

Also, why does it have to go in that order?
 
Your choice is the Abit website (yes, they're there) or the Intel site. Whichever you prefer. I don't EVER install anything off the CD because it's likely out of date before it gets to me. I throw out my mobo CDs as soon as I get them.

It goes in that order because it's the most logical. Chipsets drivers are for the mobo resources, so it makes sense to install them first. My video drivers require the DX9 to be installed for optimal performance, so I do that next, followed by the video drivers. Part of the Chipset drivers are the AGP GART and IDE controller drivers, so common sense says that's the order to go.
