okay, now I've read a couple different online guides on how to tweak the AGP aperture size one site said that it should be left alone at 64MB, I read another one thats saying you should go with 128. And I know it has something to do with the amount of physical memory you have on the card (or is it the system, I don't even know). So with the rig in my rig, could someone explain to me what it should really be set at?

I read detailed artcile on Anandtech some years ago. They did extensive testing and found only one instance in a game where 256 made a difference and in many cases degridation of performance occured for reasons they could not determine.

They also found that 128 seemed ideal in most circumstances.

I have a Shi**y mobo, and the apeture size choices I have are 64 and 256. See sig for what I'm running. I currently have it in the 256 setting. I don't really know what that does tho... hehe

Anyone really know what that's all about?

run 64mb then, i run 64mb on my board even with a gig of ram..

either 64 or 128 are allways best.

okay, well I changed mine to 128 and it did NOTHING at all to my score in 3dmark03. I had like a 941 before I changed it, and then it was a 941 or cery near it after I changed it. (that was at stock speeds, not the OCed ones in my sig. With those speeds in my sig it goes to about 1284 or something.

damn 1284 I am glad I dont have that card I score around 5990 with my setup but hey you get what you can afford and I got mine becuase I got a 5900xt as a replacement for my ti4600 then I sold it and got the 9800pro cost me 50.00 difference

oh yeah as far as the agp size goes I think 128 is perfect
256 is good it just feels faster in 128 for some reason I cant back it up with #'s though I tried

sorry for so many post back to back but change your pci latency to 128 too I think that made a difference

That's an OLD outdated method though for setting AGP size, unless you still running something like a TNT or GF1 or something.

If your video card has 64 or 128mb memory, then set it to 128. Most people's crashing and other problems have gone away when set to 128.

Nowadays, it seems setting it to whatever the video card has seems to work better.

i ran mine at 512 for the longest time, but droping it to 128 (about 6 mounths ago) seemed to help in games a little bit
