thats pretty cool i'll have to look into those see what their capabilities are.
 
Looks interesting. The specs claims 1.5GHz though, so i'm guessing it's running at 1.53GHz since it's on a 133MHz bus.

I might grab one of these and try it out to see how much power it really pulls. If it's under 30w, it would be pretty sweet. I'm guessing it's going to end up more around 40-50w though with a non mobile motherboard design.

Edit: It would be nice if they could spell Biostar right! :eek:
 
To keep energy costs (and heat) down, what would be a good cheap power supply to use with one of these? Would be pretty cool to get a couple of these going in a farm with just one HD...that should keep costs down one would think.

You could use a 200watt MicroATX psu but truthfully the 300watt ATX psu's usually get better reviews and are cheaper.

 
Because it's a Rosewill, and its not just 13.99, you have to pay 6.99 shipping, so its $21, and it will need to be replaced in 6 months or less when it dies.

Probably not. Rosewill contracts the cheapest fo the cheap. They don't list the UL number on that unit but the last Rosewill someone pulled a number from was an ATNG I believe. Bad.

FSP>ATNG any and everyday.

However the previous FSP listed is an ATX12v2.0 PSU and if the AXP motherboard you are using doesn't regulkate the cpu off fo the 12v you may run into a big problem with crossloading.

What you want is a a good single 12v FSP.

I'd suggest visiting the Power Supply subforum on these forums. You will quickly learn why cheap PSUs aren't worth the savings.

Simply put, the chance of taking your hardware out is much greater than with a quality unit. It's better to spend a little more now than a lot more later.
