Ok, so here is the situation. I am currently in the process of ordering my new pc, but with all this talk about x800s/6800s, I’m kinda rethinking about what video card I should get (I was originally going to order a 9800 Pro). So, here are my options:

Options:

1. Pre-order the x800 XT (or 6800GT or Ultra) at the over inflated price and limited supply, pray that it arrives…
2. Buy a 9800 Pro now (128 mb) – maybe overclock it to 9800 XT? Hold off until maybe winter or later to upgrade to x800 or 6800..
3. Buy a cheap card now (something below $100) and upgrade to x800 XT when price drops down a bit (late summer or early fall?)

My soon to be new comp – Pent3.0, 1 gig Corsair xms 3200, etc…

I mostly play CS now (with my mx420?), depending on the video card, I might play some Call of Duty/UT2004..

I intend on getting HL2, Doom3, etc when it comes out…

Thanks for the replies, went ahead and ordered the parts for my new comp, but left the video card out. Think I'm just going to wait till the dust settles and figure out which one I should get.
