Alright, well I've saved up enough cash to get myself a Shuttle. I already have some basic components (XP 2400+, HDD, DVD-RW, Radeon 9700 pro), and I just need some advice as to what kind of components I should use...

So far I have this:

Memory: Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series, Low Latency (Twin Pack) 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-2700 with Platinum Silver Heat Spreader - Retail

and the Shuttle itself:

Shuttle Black XPC Barebone System for Socket A at 266/333MHz FSB AMD CPU, Model SN41G2B

Now, I don't know if I need all of that RAM in there. It's expensive as hell ($235) and to tell you the truth, I won't be overclocking it at all (I'm afraid the Shuttle will melt with the HEAT!!). Anyway, I have 1GB of RAM already in my desktop (2x 256 Kingston @ 333, and 512 Samsung @ 333). So what should I do about this RAM issue? Should I keep the Corsair, go with something cheaper or use mine?

Thanks.

**edit: I play a lot of games, but I don't do any sort of CAD work or Photoshop work...I don't know if that would help in anyone giving me advice. THX.

if you are not getting rid of the old desk top then buy some simple ram the cooling is not necessary

I'm planning on running 512 in my SN41G2 that I bought last week. unforutunately I'll be using onboard graphics for now :(

I bought a shuttle, 2500+, 2x kingston hyperx 512mb. I want a big harddrive, dvdrw, and maybe an ati AIW 9600. Does my shuttle have enough power for all that?

Ok, I guess it needs to be said one more time...as if 10,375 times isn't enough.

Shuttles can handle just about anything you throw at them power-wise. And, they do a pretty good job of cooling, so it will be fine temp-wise.

Sheesh.
