I am in the process of building a new pc for my daughter. I bought a closeout foxconn motherboard with all the essentials(microatx board). Unfortunately the system would get through the detecting devices and then a blinking cursor, could not boot from cd, or floppy.
I tried a different hard drive, floppy, cd rom, and ram. No luck.
I figured it was a MB issue so I tried another one. Same issue. I tried booting memtest, knoppix and windows xp from cd rom(couple different cdrom drives), no luck. I tried many settings in the bios on both boards, no luck. Tried down clocking ram and cpu, again no success.
All I have left is the power supply and cpu. Which of these would likely cause these issues? The system has a Athlon 2500 with a single stick of pc2100 ram 512k. Temperatures are within reason(48C), Currently there is a MSI nforce2 in the case however the foxconn is sis chipset. My daughters birhday is in two days so I am running out of time. I only have a power supply in my main rig that I could test with and I don't have any Athlon processors, so I can't test the processor. Any help is appreciated.

PS, I unhooked everything but the HD, CD, KB and Mouse(and tried different combos of these already).
