I am putting together a new system and noticed a sale price on this water system at Petra's. I have never considered water cooling in all the years of system building mainly due to the expense versus a good air cooler. I am planning to purchase the 775 RT, but with this sale price, I am reconsidering.

I have three cases that I can use for this new build (two full towers and one mid tower).

I do not want to spend much more than the price listed, but see that a v2 waterblock is available over the v1 waterblock (difference?). Would the Petra CoolKit D4 be good enough for the new system below? Stick with air cooling? Any suggestions?

Main use will be gaming. Secondary would be occasional encoding and office stuff for work.
 
That's not a bad little kit for $130. I'd take the v2 though and pony up the extra $15. Take the medium speed yates as well. That should cool your CPU quite well, and even your NB. Down the line you could add a 1.120 rad and GPU block.

I might jump on this as well.
 
The v2 block has the pro mount kit and is a bit more restrictive than the v1 Fuzion. Also, due to the inlet plate on the v1, you would need to use a nozzle kit and orient the nozzle according to the CPU being cooled (dual core, quad core). Honestly though, you will see very little difference other than a better mounting mechanism and a 1-2c temp difference between the blocks depending on mount orientation.

The D4 pump is fine. According to Petra's own measurements, the D4 has slightly better pressure but is noisier than the D5. The D4 suffers from a "buzzing" noise that is somewhat inherent in the D4/650 pumps.
