hey, I'm looking to build a rack for my Intel 520-T switch, and i thought while i was at it, I'd buy a 4u rackmount chassis and make myself a full-out rack setup. I want to make the rack itself out of one piece of bent lexan... kind of an upside-down "U" shape. I'd also make a base, of course. I wanted to make a plexi case to house water cooling for the 4u case, and have piping come out of one and into the other... just to save space and keep the reservoir away from the 'spensive stuff. Any advice or cautions before starting out in making a lexan rack would be very helpful. Thanks

rackmount stuff gets really heavy:eek: there is a reason most (if not all) commercial racks are made out of steel. unless you are planning to just stack things on top of one another, you would need to make a steel rack, as lexan wouldn't be able to hold the weight.
