Greetings...

I am building a hybrid Koolance/DIY H20 system and have come down to needing some fan controller ideas. I have designed in the Innovatek in-the-coolant sensor and will be using a total of five (5) sensors and also need to watch/change at least two (2) different fans. If your interested you can see what I'm up to at http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=865055

I have looked at some of the less expensive units, but they seem to lack programs or workability. I want to see on the display my CPU and H20temps (selectable) and I also want to keep logs that I can export easily to Excel. My choices seem to be limited to the Aquaaero and the Innovatek units. Which one of these systems will do me right? BTW, price is a secondary consideration.

What has been the experience of the group in regards to the Windows software supplied with the Aquaero and Fan-O-Matic. Anyone know about the Fan-O-Matic Pro?

If you know of something better I am all ears :)

I think the idea of the fan-o-matic is great but the price is outfreakinrageous!!

I'm in a similar position. I need a good fan controller/temp monitor. Most only go up to 4 fans. I'm currently using a combo of a Matrix Orbitals MX222, which controlls 3 fans, and a Coolermaster Aerogate to control 3 others. I love my MX222. It uses LCDC software to control the display. LCDC is very configurable to do a lot of things including controlling and monitoring fan speeds. I just wish it had more fan channels. It also uses Dallas One wire temp probes, which are compatable with nothing. A determined person as yourself TN should be able to make these bulky probes good for something though. Also, look at the MX422 if you have the room. It has an extra fan channel and a 4 X 20 display. I'd give you a link but their site seems to be down right now.

Frozen CPU has a nice selection of LCD screens including the MX222.

I'm thinking that the Innovatek Fan-O-Matic is the way to go, though I still need to find out how well the English support is and to make sure the program is English as well. I hate having to call my friend in Berlin to figure something out. Innovatek hasn't even bothered to put up a parallel English site and they sell a lot of product into England from what I hear.

Aqua Computer seems much more English orientated, but their software needs several separate programs to run. I guess you pays your money and you takes your chances ;)

I think I like the Fan-O-Matic Pro the best as it is the latest tech and I like the blue VFD screen better than a black on green LCD. But $275 USD is a lot of scoots and it doesn't even come in any color besides some off silver. Fortunately it looks like it would be easy to mod a Lian-Li slot cover to use instead.

Don't worry. Within the next days there will be a new software called "aqua suite". Hopefully it will be much better than the other small tools before. Also some members in the forum creating their own software.

Doing a Lian Li slot cover mod without visible bolts for the aquaero is also possible:

- top view
- front
- right side

It's a bit tricky but matchs up with the clean design of Lian Li

Thanks so much for the advice! I was going to order a F-O-M Pro Monday from Frozen CPU, but I think I will wait a couple of days to see what flys. Can I use the Innovatek in-the-coolant temp sensors (2 wire) with the Aquaero?

Nice looking L-L mod! :D

BTW, what forum were you refering to?

I'm not sure but it should work. I have heard some people use Innovatek sensors with the Aquero because they are much longer and if you have a PC-70 you know a cable couldn't be long enough :D

I'm refering to the Aqua-Computer forum. I guess you mean the "ac_forum" in the link. That is my folder for all the pictures ;)
