Adding a SATA drive to SN25P?

I have just put together a Shuttle SN25P, and mainly due to the very helpful info on these forums on how to get an SN25P up and running, it is now working away quite happily.
I opted for an IDE hard drive as my system disk, sharing the IDE channel with an NEC optical drive.
The hard drive I used was a Samsung Spinpoint 200Gb 7200rpm 8Mb cache ATA133 drive, and it certainly seems to shift as the SN25P boots very quickly.
Anyway I digress, what I want to do is add another hard drive, which will be a SATA drive.
Will a SATA drive require a driver, or will it just be recognised?
I have not loaded any SATA drivers, neither did I load the nVidia IDE driver as it was suggested that this could be a cause of BSOD's.
If I do need a driver where would I find it, would it be on the floppy disc that came with my SN25P ?
One of the reasons I ask is using Nero Info Tool, it does not report any SATA channels only lots of IDE channels? Which I presume are in fact the SATA channels?
Sorry if these questions are a bit basic but you are dealing with an Apple Mac computer person here, don't laugh - please :)

It will find your SATA drive just fine.

You would have to reinstall Windows, do the F6 thing at the beginning of Windows setup, and load the drivers from disk if you were using any of the RAID options - SATA or not.

So, you're good to go as is. I've installed the nVidia IDE driver and had no issues with 3x SATA drives plus a DVD burner on the IDE channel.
 
i've never used the nvidia ide drivers for fear of data loss from hearing of all the horror stories so the windows ide drivers work fine for me. Your sata is plug and play. just be sure to format it when you get it in. Right click My computer -> Manage and format the unpartitioned space of however big your SATA drive will be. it's easy. just be sure that if you are OCin'g that you put the SATA drive on chanels I think 3&4 on the Shuttle. I'll open mine up and check for you later tonight but there are two channels that are locked or something and won't get corrupt while OC'ing.

And to note as Homer stated only need to reinstall windows IF you are going to use a RAID setup. if not then it's fine.
 
Thanks for the very useful info, I will add a 250Gb drive I think. Hopefully that will take a while to fill up.
