Forgive me if this is in a FAQ somewhere but I dug around and couldnt seem to locate an answer to this..

Situation: I have a crappy case with a crappy power supply. Its a 350watt but only has 4 standard plugs (1 dvd burner, 2 HDD, 1 video card)....

Question: I have several other ATX power supplies just laying around.. 350w - 160w .. What is the easiest way to add a second power supply to this case.. possibly to just run fans/lights or.... could I run HDDs off one and like video/optical drives off another.... I would like to think its just as easy as splicing into the plug off the existing PS .. just making sure I'm not thinking wrong...

again.. i'm sure this has been asked .. if anyone could point me in the right direction.. it would be much appreciated.

thanks

Or you could just get some power cable splitters. A 350 watt power supply should be able to handle much more than a motherboard + four devices.
