I added a BFG GTX285 as a second card in my signature rig today. According to HFM, I'm picking up another 7k ppd. I forgot how to add another GPU client, so I had to refer to the instructions here on the forum. I guess I was full of brain farts tonight. I was setting it up as I was reading it and still damn near never got it up and running.

I have another quad core Intel (Q8300) with a GTX285 at home that I am building. With any luck, I will have it at about 4GHz and folding SMP & GPU this weekend. Wish me luck..... I assembled it this past weekend, but the *&%&^%* won't post. According to what I read on MSI's website, I'm going to have to remove the CPU and put in my e2180 to update the BIOS before the Q8300 will work.

Best of luck with the new system builds. If you're going to be running the SMP client you might want to experiment with flags enabling different number of cores. I noticed better results when one core is dedicated to the GPU client and the rest to the SMP client. I am running almost exclusively Core2 systems and my machines with GPU clients have at least two cards installed.

Don't forget to crank up the Shader clock on that 285. That should get you into the 10k ppd range.

Haven't ever done any OC'ing on video cards. WIll have to check into that. Thanks for the info.

My bad. I just realized that I misrepresented the added card. The card that I added to my signature rig is a GTX280, not a 285. I'm sure it will still benefit though.
 
My GTX 260 does 8500-9000 ppd by itself, so you are going to see a nice jump.
