Hello!

I was wondering if anybody is using this controller card with an SSD cache? How has the performance improved with the cache? Tough to find any tests on this.

What SSD drives are you using? I'm worried than an MLC drive will wear out too quickly. Unfortunately high endurance drives are pretty expensive and three are necessary for write caching (Raid 1E or 5 for the cache).

Adaptec has a predictor tool for their MaxCache (and LSI does too for their equivalent). Try emailing them and see if they'll send it to you. If they don't, send me a PM.
