I wanted to create a HD image and restore it on a new HD then format the old HD for use with another system.

Some guy at work mentioned Acronis and I was wondering if this was capable of getting what I needed done.
 
it's perfect for that. acronis is a very nice program. it does everything simple or advanced, and has a very nice bulit in scheduler. gosh i sound like i work for acronis :p
