Acer Nitro 60 Refurb

Many reports of issues/lemons but good/free returns and ebay guarantee, ordered 1 to test with C1 cash back + cc offer (basically takes off the tax). Fingers crossed but given the hw apocalypse prices, I think this is a great deal if you get a good unit, my conservative price breakdown:

CPU + Mobo - $200 (last gen so I discount this heavily given folks weren't willing to pay for the 270k bundle lol)

RAM - $250 (proabably more)

GPU - $550 (likely more with price increases coming)

SSD - $100 (very conservative)

CASE + Cooling + PSU - $100

That's $1200 in bare min component pricing right now and you'd have to land a deal on every single one. Every needs a backup machine or 2 these days. Also the 14700F seems very close to top dog cpu performance still (not surprising since the 14900HX in my Legion 7i is a monster, destroying my desktop 9800X3D in most multicore tasks). GLTA.
 
I think it's an okay deal. The 14700 line is no joke, still a great CPU for gaming and productivity. The RTX 5070 12GB is a solid graphics card, handles anything 2K, performs better than an RTX 3080, has latest DLSS if you're into that, AV1 encoding, etc. The downsides is the Motherboard, RAM, SSD, and PSU won't be top-notch. Most likely a B-series motherboard, either DDR4, or DDR5 5200MHz, a QLC drive, and a 750W gold PSU. That they don't even mention if it's DDR4 or DDR5 is crazy.

All reports indicate the RAM is always DDR5 6000, PSU is a TT 850W Bronze, and Mobo is a mid tier GBT 760 but yea just testing it out, compact enough for a living room PC. Only keeping if all the CB comes through and the unit itself is decent. I wouldn't be surprised if these specs start retailing for 2k as the year ends unless somehow the AI mania/bubble bursts.
