I bought an Acer AL1916 about 1-2 months ago and the screen flickers every 20-45 minutes like its resetting itself. It would go blank for about 1 second then come back on during these time intervals. It is starting to get very annoying as all of a sudden it just flickers. When I go into the LCD menu, two of the buttons are also greyed out, these two are the Horizontal + Vertical Alignment Menu and the Focus and Clock Menu. I had tested it on another computer using regular VGA port and the two buttons are not greyed out however have not tested if it flickers in normal intervals. Currently I'm using the DVI port and is lost as to what it could be, I've reinstalled the video drivers and even tested it on two different video cards (7900GT and Radeon 8500) and the same thing happens.

That the buttons are greyed out is completely normal since you use the DVI. DVI gets the signal in digital format and does not need adjustments. VGA on the other hand needs screen adjustments (since it's analog and not as exact as DVI) and therefore the buittons are there.

As for the flickering.....doesn't sound right. Is it your monitor doing it or maybe the videocard?!

It is my monitor that is doing it for sure, I had used a CRT previously and it did not occur. Also having it tested on two different video card confirms this.

There should be no flickering.....can you RMA it or send it in for repair?
