ABS 1100W enough?

It is enough, but this is better(if you can bare the LEDs)
Dual PSU setups are hardly ever needed(benching sessions with four Fermi GF110 cards on liquid nitrogen for example).. this sums up the ins and outs of dual PSU setups quite nicely.

Thanks for the response!

So does Newegg just way overshoot on their psu calculator to be safe cuz this is what they recommend for me... "Our recommended PSU Wattage: 1387W"

@Profumo: I'm not trying to challenge you I'm really curious... why is the $179.00 1000w PSU with lower review ratings better than the $179.00 1100W with better reviews?

I have an i7 3930K with a 6990 slightly OC'd, in trifire with MSI 6970 factory OC'd eyefinity setup. 7-8 fans, water cooled cpu, 2 SSD's and 2 10000 rpm drives.

what do you think?

and is going dual PSU's a good option?

I know a member here was working on creating a power supply calculator. Not exactly too sure what happened to it though.

I agree with Zero82z. Also, many of those "positive" reviews from users actually have little to no reference whatsoever to compare that PSU with. AFAIK they are comparing that reviewed PSU to a complete POS of a PSU to begin with.

Interesting stuff guys thanks! I've owned the ABS for about a year now and what's funny is these two PSU's were the two I came to. I guess It's fine cuz... I'm running my setup fine with 6990+6970 OC running a WEI of 7.9. I bet the WEI isn't that good of a benchmark though. lol
