Hey guys im about to order my mobo/components for my new conroe build. I'm going to have everything ready for my chip when it gets here :). Just need final approval of the asus p5b, i havent found many reviews for it, but most people said its good and a decent overclocker. Anyone have PERSONAL experience with it yet? I will be o/cing an e6600.

Thanks for replies!

Unless it can overclock your 6600 to 4.5ghz on air then it's way too much money. Don't get me wrong, very tempting, but $250 for that is a bit much. I'm still considering the board myself if I really want to splurge....but I'm really not sure. Right now it's kinda up in the air for me between that and the DS3

well i would get the vanilla p5b the $160 one, sorry i forgot to specify. I also should add that i need to order this week im leaving for school aug. 19th!

Thanks!

One more question, would this memory G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ - Retail be compatible with the p5b?

Thanks!

damn, no one has used this board yet? should i just go with the gigabyte 965? Any input is greatly appreciated I have to order soon!

Thanks

have you guys actually used the gigabyte? it sounds good but i've heard of them having some problems like hissing noises and it didnt run stable when overclocking  so I dunno, I'd like to hear some more testimonials :)

Thanks

The ram above is very good stuff, you will be happy with it. Wish I could help you out in the mobo department but atm I see it as a real toss up between many of the boards.
