I just put together my wishlist at Zipzoomfly. Will order after Xmas(need to check if I have any change left :D ). Abit Motherboard, Crucial Memory, AMD 5200 X2 CPU, Thermaltake Lanbox, Plextor Sata Drive.......looking forward for a quiet SFF for the New Year!!
 
I'm just going through the manual for this board (I have one at home waiting to be built) and have a question about the RAM voltage.

I have 2x1 GB XP2-5300 Mushkin sticks that run at 2.1v.
The default voltage for DDR2 RAM is 1.8v and I see that can be changed in the BIOS via the "DDRII Voltage" setting.
I'm not sure what this additional "DDRII Reference Voltage" setting below it is though.

Any ideas?
 
Reference voltage is either the startup voltage, "half-voltage" that controls the memory traces, or additional percentages that can be added to 2.5 vdimm.

So should I change it at all or leave at defaults? Only thing I plan to change is the voltage from 1.8 to 2.1
 
Having a strange build problem--the power comes on to fans but not USB (keyboard/mouse) as well as there being no display. Both power connectors connected so there are green and red lights on motherboard.

Case + PSU: Antec NSK3300
CPU: X2 4200EE + Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM / stock AMD Athlon64 cooler
RAM: Mushkin XP2-5300 2x1GB DDR2 SDRAM in banks 3, 4
HDD: WD500KS
Optical: SATA LiteOn 16x DVD burner
Video: XFX 7950GT Extreme XXX 610M

HDD clicks 3 times every few seconds. Disconnected SATA cable so it'd stop doing that. Tried 1 stick of RAM, 2 sticks of RAM in 1, 2, 3, 4 with no change. Tried DVI port of XFX card, then took card out and tried with integrated 6150 video, no change.

Any suggestions?
 
I think the same thing happened to me when I first got it. I let is sit for awhile and I was able to turn it on later. Is the red led light on?
 
Both red and green were on, indicating both power connectors were connected properly. Tried resetting CMOS.
 
brand new build. is this a common DOA issue? i saw one exact post like this on the abit forums.
 
Mine worked great for a week and then went to reboot and she never POSTed again. No video, just continuous long beeps like my memory was bad. I think the shipping BIOS is to blame.
 
my shop got it to power on fully today. there was a short somewhere on the front panel and its connector.
 
looks like my buddy asked some questions earlier while using my username. Anyway I have two questions about this. Has anyone tried to use a VGA to S-video or RCA connector on this? Would someone mind trying it to see if it works? Secondly can you use dual monitors in span mode or only clone? I heard some people complain that they could only clone two monitors but not span across for a true multu monitor setup. Im hoping those few were just idiots who didn't know what they were doing.
