So i am planning to add a side case fan to my lian-li pc-61 and i ask my drunk ass step-dad who is extremely proud of himself and everyone related to him to help me punch the holes which would make up the grill part of my case. well i hand him the case panel and show him exactly what to do, the template drawn on with pencil perfectly. I show him another piece from the case and show him what the approximate size of the holes should be and that the holes don't exactly need to be that size, the size on this peripheral piece. well he steps aside to his ironworker machine and shows me and starts covering his ass with "this is hard with this fucking lip on the edges" etc. he shows me the piece and well, lets say, i opened up a can of fuck. He made two holes on it and they were completely unrelative to the template and i marched out and HE got mad at ME because i must've ruined his pride. what a fuck tard! So, anyways, now i am depressed and i am wondering if i can get a replacement side panel for my lian-li............
 
I don't think that was worth reading. On a side note go kick your dad in the nuts, and yes you can buy a new side panel at many places.

and yeah. shouldnt be so bad to just get another side panel
 
There is almost nothing that can't be fixed. Just cut out a window larger than the messups and put some plexi in it. If you still arn't satisfied then get another pannel but at least you would have a good spare with a window in it.

I would imagine the lips would be difficult when using large tools. If you want something done your way do it yourself, or else run the risk of getting someone elses interpretation.

i was just really steamed yesterday which is why i posted. the more i look at the pictures, the more i think that it was not worthy of a post. also, i figured out a different design: Notice the circle drawn around the traumatized area, i will cut that out with a hole saw, put some (all of this will be on the inside) speaker mesh on top of a grill-type plate on top of the Panaflo. This will all be bolted down with black bolts in the four corners which i also have drawn on the panel. In fact, i actually like this design better.

i mean you wouldnt be alive if it werent for him... but anyways yeah it looks like you can fix it up pretty easily and if not add a pretty window

hmm your template was not perfect anyways, lower right hand is missing 2 drawn holes.
Id get pretty mad myself if my dad (or step dad) did that i guess.
What I don't get if it was going to be a hassel to have your step dad do it why not do it yourself.
 
I hate people that hate their parents/step parents. Its just very immature.

yeeah it is sort of immature when you act like that... i have a friend whose dad died and he has a new step dad and he used to hate him.. but its never happened to me so i probably dont know what im talking about

this picture is about 2 days after this happened and i had been making changes, erasing, drawing the circle, thinking about what i was going to do instead. there were many holes that i had erased.

Ill post pics of the finished deal. maybe jesus did this to me because i will actually like this new design better. I have no clue what i was thinking when i decided to go with the 100s of holes.
 
That sucks dude, but never blame someone else for a bad job you didint fuck up urself. Just a suggestion though, I used a plasma cutter to put a couple of holes and a window into the side of my praetorian. There out there and if you can use it for 15 min, you should be able to fix that side panel, save you some cash.
 
so wait, you didnt bother doing it yourself and the person who you asked to do it, doing it completly free, fucked it up?

The Mod God's get very upset if you have someone else do your mods. They make things like that happen on purpose so you learn to do them yourself. ;)

Not to sound rude or anything....But does the world revolve around you and is everybody supposed to be perfect with you? You asked your step dad for help and he tried his best to help you and you got pissed off at him because you were unsatisfied with the results. In the future I would expect that you do your own mods so that you can blame nobody but yourself. Your step dad has every right to be mad at you for yelling at him over this. All he was trying to do was help you and you call him all this stuff? Thats just not cool maybe you should start wiping your own ass.

yeah i did everything there. Just a hole saw, band saw, and drill press was needed. I had a hard time finding mesh to use for the filter so i eventually cut it off of one of the tv's speakers downstairs and put a plant in front of the hole....It is a 700 lb. Fisher 27in from the 70s. no biggie.

If you were my son, I would have your ass in a cast once I found out about that. I dont care how old the tv is, if its not yours, what the fuck are you doing cutting off parts of it? Thats seriously fucked up man.

That's sad. I started reading this and felt kinda bad, you know. Your stepdad messed up your case and all... But then as it went along, it looked like it wasn't that big of a deal. I still had some sympathy, though.

...But then to go and ruin a tv. That's messed up, but the saddest part is that it looks like you fail to realize the hypocrisy of it all.

It's pathetic when people do stupid crap then wonder why they get treated like crap...
 
While I will say I don't understand why your stepdad drilled where he did (you did give him a pattern I presume), you still should have done it yourself.

And even if you had him do it you should have let him teach you and you should have stood there and watched so you could learn (assuming you didn't know how to do it). Otherwise, why are you having him do it?
 
Emorphien, thats easy to explain. Seraph wanted the quick and easy way out. Look at what he's done so far. First, he tried to get his dad/stepdad to do the work. When the dad did not do it up to his expectations he decided to do it himself. How? He cut up and destroyed something that did not belong to him because he was either too lazy to find the material elsewere, ask his parents if they knew of something he COULD use, or go out and buy the stuff himself.

If it seems like his attitude sickens me, its because it does. Thats one major problem kids these days have, they are too damn lazy. They grew up with technology and want everything done at the speed of light. If they can not get it that fast they either throw a huge ass hissy fit or do whatever they can to get thier way, regardless of how it affects others. If you ask me, 90% of kids like this need thier ass beat. This whole "oh, do not spank a child, it causes pschological harm" bullshit is creating a generation of worthless little punks. So when someone posts something like this thread, I have no compassion for them and will flame them to no end.
