One more question for today:
Should I use the Nvidia control panel AA settings? I hear that 2xQ is the best performace AA setting, but I can only select that in the nvidia control panel....if I do, then what do I set the setting for AA in games like hl2/doom to? Turn it off since its on the in control panel.
 
I usually use the ingame settings for AA (and AF), unless there are no such options, where I choose them in the CP.
The 2xQ AA is a AA-mode that gives close to 4xAA, but only taxes as a little more than 2xAA.
It's not the best mode(IQ wise or preformance wise), and what level of AA you should choose depands on a bit more than what GFX card you have.
CPU, RAM and gaming resolution and the game itself also have their say in chosing the right amount of AA.

And AA dosn't work simmilar in different games.
Some games look like crap, and realy get a big IQ boost from AA, while others display more modest results...
