My friend is unable to record sound (including speaking in online games) with his Mic (I know for sure the mic isnt the problem!): check it out and help please :(

Soundcard: Audigy2 ZS
Driver: came installed with dell. (dell XPS rig)

No, the record line isnt muted in the driver (checked),
He has tried both the mic in, in the front and the 'original' in the back of the comp. So basicly it really should work! Could this be a problem with the drivers??
