With all the new chips coming out on the 20th, I would like to get a new one. That being said I have an nforce 650I mother board. From what I have been reading 45 NM chips will not work on Nvidia based motherboards? Is that correct?

I know that ASUS don't say the P5W-DH will use 45nm but people with the beta bios and the samples say they work ok so I would wait until the actual CPUs are on the market.
 
It's a lot more complicated than that. For example, my EVGA 680 A1 will work with 45nm dual core, but not quad (officially according to EVGA), yet some have gotten their quads to post, etc. Also, some manufacturers are stating that a bios update will suffice, while other say that quad 45nm's will never be supported due to a hardware deficiency.

It's best just to see what others have gotten to work, and what the manufacturer says. This subject is a very serious "YMMV" topic, and luck of the draw.
