Feel kind of stupid, but need help figuring out why this isn't working:

Got a DVD burner and a CD burner, they both work fine individually, but when they are both connected to the same IDE cable, neither works to near it's intended potential :confused: ; neither will burn but they will read. As I said, this problem is resolved if only one is hooked up at a time.

The jumpers are set right, though I believe that is mainly only a factor in how their detected, not how they operate...

So, am I just being stupid or is this a real problem and/or something needs to be replaced?

One other thing... Is the 9550 256MB card a piece of crap or something, or am I on crack?
 
try both on the same line with no jumpers on either of them.
