A question about SpectraView

I'm currently saving up for a pair of NEC 2690WUXi2 monitors. If I buy one SV model and the other in standard form, there is nothing to stop me from using the color calibration gear on the other one, correct? It's similar to other color calibration systems you see advertised in photography magazines?

I also intend, eventually, on buying a 3090, so I should be able to use the SV gear on that as well, correct? And yes, I measured my desk and it's just big enough for all that panel space.

Thanks,

-Nate

I currently own an NEC 2690WUXi along with the SpectraView II software and the NEC branded GretaMacbeth Eye-One 2, I telephoned customer assistance to obtain information regarding their latest version NEC branded GretaMacbeth Eye-One 2 sensor that they have designated for the NEC 2690WUXi2 display that you will be purchasing.

The NEC 2690WUXi2 sRGB coloration extends further beyond the sRGB colorspace than does the NEC 2690WUXi thus providing greater sRGB saturation than the 2690WUXi. (See specifications below).
The SpectraView II software has also been upgraded, it is now Version 1.1.00 (Build 090114). SpectraView II version 1.1.00 is fully compatible with the NEC 2690WUXi as well as the NEC 2690WUXi2. If you are a registered owner of the SpectraView II version 1.0 software you will be able to download the version 1.1.00 at no addtional cost

Am not concerned about getting the upgraded sensor after NEC told me it was not necessary for a 2690Xi. However, you will want to know if both the SpectraView II (version 1.1.00) as well as the newer sensor will be packaged in your SpectraView II KIT. If you purchase your SpectraView II Kit from NEC you will more than likely have the Version 1.1.00 software along with the upgraded sensor which was created to accomodate the 2690Xi2. If you purchase your SpectraView II Kit from a reseller other than NEC you may find that the packaging may or may not contain the new sensor because these upgrades took effect in February. I wouldn't worry if NEC's website shows the Kit to be out of stock, I have found that to be the norm but once they take your order you go to the top of their delivery list and they replenish their stock very quickly.

Hope that this information helps. Here is the NEC link for further information on obtaining the sofware and the sensor.http://www.necdisplay.com/SupportCenter/Monitors/spectraview2/

Here are NEC specifications for three pertinent displays that will be of interest.

I don't think there is actually need to make any adjustments to the calibrator used, which is rebranded X-Rite i1Display 2/LT (X-Rite bought GretaMacbeth a long time ago). The calibrator shlould support a very wide gamut, although I'm not sure how wide.
