A question about processors...

I'm building a computer and i was wondering what the big difference between intel and amd processors was, or is it just a preference?

Your probably better off googling that question.
Most just preffer AMD:
Cheaper
Does the samething
Good for gaming
Good for video
Shit good for most anything.

Aside from price differences, AMD is faster for most things.

Intel's major benefit is a smoother user experience with hyper-threading (2 virtual processors). It's also faster in certain video encoding routines.

Just thought I'd drop by with some real info before it turned into a !!!!!! flamewar.

In a nutshell:
If you want smooth multitasking with zillions of windows, go Intel.
If audio or video encoding is your main target, go Intel.

If you want to play games, go AMD.
